GIVE THE GIFT OF CAMP:
YOUR GIFT, THEIR FUTURE

For generations, we’ve been shaping young lives and fostering unforgettable memories that last a lifetime. As our CYO Camp and Caritas Creek Alumni Foundation prepares, in 2025, to celebrate 50 years of Caritas Creek and 80 years of CYO camp, we honor a remarkable legacy of faith, friendship, and community.

Remember the transformative experience you shared at Camp? The cheers around the campfire, the thrill of exploring the Coastal Redwood forest, and the lifelong friendships forged in countless serendipities?

Our Camp Alumni Foundation believes in the power of these experiences to shape young minds, build character, and foster a connection with the natural world and their Creator. That’s why we’re reaching out to passionate alumni and donors like you to support our mission.

Our quest to change the world...

Your generous donation will directly impact the lives of countless young people and their families, ensuring they have the opportunity to experience the magic of CYO Camp and Caritas Creek for generations to come. Your support will help us to:

  • Provide financial support to low and mid-income families so their children can attend camp.

  • Provide scholarships for students in need, giving opportunities to schools in a wider socio-economic range to learn in nature’s classroom.

  • Fund essential needs that enhance the camp experience, from restoring sacred spaces to providing necessary supplies and upgrades.

  • Invest in innovative programming to keep our camp relevant and engaging.

THE GIFT OF CAMP: A CAMPER'S STORY

Dawud’s first summer at CYO Camp was unforgettable. He received a scholarship and attended Wildwood, where the warm and authentic energy of the counselors left a deep impression on him. This authenticity inspired Dawud, sparking his dream of one day becoming a counselor himself.

Dawud envisioned himself in the counselor role, knowing how meaningful it could be to inspire others, just as the staff had inspired him.

Dawud’s path took him in many directions, exploring his creative passions through school and work. Yet, he often felt something was missing. While his pursuits fed his creativity, he struggled to find the kind of genuine connections and spiritual grounding he valued so deeply.

Seven years after his last summer at CYO Camp, Dawud found himself in a place of uncertainty. Seeking clarity, he was struck by an unmistakable pull to reconnect with the CYO Camp community.

With determination and hope, Dawud applied to work at CYO Summer Camp for the 2024 season. Dawud felt like he had come home. Surrounded by a strong and vibrant community of staff and campers, he rediscovered the joy and authenticity that had shaped his youth. Now excelling as a childcare worker and a naturalist, Dawud has fully embraced his role as a mentor and guide, planting seeds of inspiration in the next generation.

Through his scholarship ("campership"), Dawud's camp mentors once shaped him; Now, Dawud is shaping others.

Living proof of the profound and lasting impact of CYO Camp and Caritas Creek programs.
